See what your POS really costs

Add up card processing, software, hardware and the smaller fees on your statements. Knowing the full number is the first step to spending less.

Your monthly POS costs

Use your most recent monthly statements. The numbers stay in your browser unless you send them to us.

Total credit and debit card sales on your processing statement.

Every fee on the processing statement, not only the rate.

All terminals and locations, per month.

Monthly payment, if you lease or rent equipment.

For example gateway, PCI, statement or add-on fees.

Where POS costs hide

Look for these items on your statements and contract. Each one adds to what you pay, whoever your provider is.

  • Processing rate and transaction fees

A percentage of each sale plus a fixed amount per transaction. Divide total fees by card sales to see your effective rate.

  • Monthly software fees

Often charged per terminal or per location, so they grow as you add stations.

  • Hardware leases

Add up the monthly payments over the full term and compare the total with the purchase price.

  • PCI and compliance fees

Yearly or monthly charges for card security compliance, sometimes with an extra fee if a form is not filed.

  • Statement and gateway fees

Small fixed charges for statements, online payment gateways or batch processing.

  • Monthly minimums

A charge when your processing fees fall below a set amount in a month.

  • Add-on modules

Separate subscriptions for features such as loyalty, online ordering or advanced reports.

  • Early termination fees

A charge for ending a contract before its term, which can make switching expensive.

How KYOrder helps you spend less

Our goal is a POS that costs your business less to run, without giving up what you need. It starts with knowing what you pay today.

Draft content. These details are pending confirmation by KYOrder.

  • One provider for all three

Software, hardware and card processing come from KYOrder, so you are not paying and managing three separate companies.

  • Pay for the setup you need

The system is configured for your industry and size, without modules your business will not use.

  • Reuse what still works

Tell us what equipment you have. Compatible hardware can be kept, so you only buy what is missing.

  • Compare line by line

Send a recent statement and get a quote for the same setup, so you can compare before you decide.

Questions to ask any POS provider

What is my effective rate?

Divide total processing fees by total card sales for the same month. Compare effective rates, not advertised rates, because per-transaction and monthly fees change the result.

Do I own the hardware?

Ask whether equipment is bought, leased or rented, what it costs over the full term, and whether it still works if you change providers.

What happens if I cancel?

Ask about the contract term, early termination fees, and whether hardware lease payments continue after the service ends.

Which fees are monthly and which are per transaction?

Ask for every fee in writing: software, processing, gateway, PCI, statement, monthly minimums and add-ons.

What does support cost?

Ask whether support, software updates and hardware replacement are included or billed separately.
